There are places the body remembers before the mind does. Returning to them can collapse, in an instant, all the distance the years have built. That โmy phone and so much moreโ holds everything in such painful simplicity. A deeply human poem.
They physical reaction to some emotions is so real, Holly. I felt this poem and your pain. For me it is as if my stomach hollows out and begins to eat into my chest - yeah that makes no sense but it feels real all the same. Thank you for writing and sharing this poem.
Yes, the hollowing out. I know this feeling too. Thank you for feeling this one with me (isnโt poetry a gift in this way) and for restacking ๐๐ป๐
I am so sorry for your loss of father. I can only imagine that some deep part of his unconscious could and still can perceive your love rushing toward him in both a goodbye and a hello.
As for your beautiful poem, Antonio's words encapsulate in such a beautiful way my thoughts as well.
grief can live in the body in such unexpected ways ๐ Iโm sorry this place brought everything back so vividly. Nevertheless, this was a beautiful read Holy ๐ค
Thank you @Pelle Martens for restacking ๐ป
